Postdoctoral Researcher Positions Available at SKLEC-NIVA Centre, East China Normal University, Shanghai

We are looking for outstanding researchers in Chemical Oceanography, Marine Biogeochemistry, Marine Ecology, Marine Modeling and Ocean Observations. Applicants should have a PhD with a proven research record, should be flexible, independent, innovative and cooperative, and wish to work in a broad interdisciplinary scientific research group. You should be able to work in a team, but also independently. You are able to communicate easily in English, both written and orally.
The positions will be in the SKLEC-NIVA Centre for Marine and Coastal Research at the State Key Laboratory for Estuarine and Coastal Research. SKLEC-NIVA is a strategic partnership between the State Key Laboratory for Estuarine and Coastal Research, East China Normal University, Shanghai, China and the Norwegian Institute for Water Research, Norway, led by Professor Richard Bellerby. SKLEC-NIVA performs world-class research on coastal and open-ocean systems delivering new understanding on climate and environmental change, biogeochemical cycles, coastal and marine ecosystems, management and policy.
There are two alternative employment models:
 
1. Introduction and Exchange Program of International Postdoctoral Program
According to the program the applicant should,
  • Have obtained an overseas doctoral degree in the last three years from world top 100 universities with a major also ranking in top 100 in its relevant field (The rank is referred to one of Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities, Times Higher Education World University Ranking, QS World University Rankings, and U.S. News & World Report).
  • Be less than 35 years old;
  • 300 k RMB annual salary;
  • 20 k RMB housing subsidy;
  • Social insurance and housing fund under Shanghai policy;
  • Assistance with children’s school or kindergarten.
 
2. 2019 Shanghai Postdoctoral Super Program
According to the program the applicant should,
  • Have obtained doctoral degree or with an approval to obtain doctoral degree in 2019;
  • Be less than 36 years old (date of birth is after 1984.01.01);
  • Position must commence before 31st, December 2019;
  • Salary is 300 k RMB for two years.
